Some days I feel like I can totally handle it and then some days I feel like I’m walking on a tightrope and I’m losing my balance. Because you’re human and you have good days and bad days and up days and down days and that’s just kinda how it works. That’s why writing songs helps me get through all that.

If you can put words together the right way, and if you put the right rhymes at the end of the right sentences, you can make words bounce of a page. That’s always been my favorite thing. I’ve made sure that in any situation and with any record label, I’m allowed to write my own music.

if u think i am listening to pop 101 on repeat then u are absolutely right my friend

A little while back, I did an AMA (ask me anything) on Reddit. I ended up getting a lot of hilarious flak about ‘Call Me Maybe,’ which inspired me to write a list of instructions on how to create a huge pop song. I basically went on to write lyrics that explain step by step exactly what’s happening in the music at that moment. It’s meant to illustrate how big artists do their thing, like a magician revealing his secrets to an audience. It definitely pokes a lot of fun but it’s also meant as a tip of the hat to those artists. Above all, it’s very me - clever, silly and sassy to the core.

LISTENING TO POP 101 ON REPEAT =D THE SONG JUST GETS BETTER AND BETTER =)

i swear pop 101 just gets sassier every time you listen to it.

a-fear-of-falling-apart:

I swear to god if I see one more person saying ‘I don’t like Pop 101’ or ‘They should have stuck with their old sound’ or some variation, I’m going to loose my shit. The boys have said since the beginning that they don’t repeat old sounds. They want to adapt. They want to change. They’re still pop-punk rock, and I’d guess that they probably will be until the band no longer exists.

BUT PART OF BEING SUCCESSFUL IN THE MUSIC INDUSTRY OCCASIONALLY MEANS CHANGING THEIR SOUND.

Also, did nobody seem to grasp the fact that Pop 101 is actually the guys poking fun at the music Josh has created for other artists? Like seriously guys. It’s just a fucking song. Like it? GREAT! Don’t like it? Well shit that sucks, but I think everyone will get over it.

But if you’re going to bitch about how ‘they’re changing’ or ‘it’s not the same as it used to be’, I think you should cram it up your ass, or go put out something better. Put up, or shut up.
